EcoVadis Sustainability Rating: Gold for Zeppelin Power Systems

06.03.2024

In the renewed sustainability rating by the independent agency EcoVadis, the company improved significantly in all areas.

Hamburg, 06.03.2024. As one of the leading suppliers of drive and energy systems, Zeppelin Power Systems is constantly working to minimize its own carbon footprint. These efforts have now been recognized in the second sustainability rating by the EcoVadis agency. After significantly improving in all areas assessed - environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement - the company was awarded the gold medal, placing it in the top five percent.

Sustainability activities at Zeppelin Power Systems

Nowadays, environmental, social and ethical performance is considered a key factor for sustainable companies, and customers, partners and service providers are also attaching increasing importance to this. Sustainability and social responsibility are deeply rooted at Zeppelin Power Systems.

For example, the company plans to successively install photovoltaic systems at all locations, implement a comprehensive modernization concept to improve its carbon footprint, convert its German locations to green electricity and design an environmentally friendly vehicle fleet. In addition, Zeppelin Power Systems is also involved in numerous initiatives, networks and campaigns and promotes topics such as diversity, equality and health.

The EcoVadis sustainability ranking is an important step in identifying potential for improvement and forms the basis for action towards a sustainable transformation.

Gold status for sustainability efforts

EcoVadis is the world's largest provider of sustainability ratings and evaluates companies based on four criteria: "environment", "labor and human rights", "ethics" and "sustainable procurement". In all four areas, Zeppelin Power Systems has improved by at least 10 percentage points since the last rating and was thus able to convert the silver status of the previous rating into a gold medal. This makes Zeppelin Power Systems is among the top five percent of all companies rated by EcoVadis in the last 12 months.

"We are very pleased with these results," says Eva-Maria Graf, Managing Director of Zeppelin Power Systems GmbH. "They show that we are on the right track. Nevertheless, there are areas in which we can and want to become even better. To achieve this, it is important that sustainability is not only firmly anchored in our corporate culture, but also remains an integral part of our goals, measures and actions in our day-to-day work. We need a corporate culture that takes a clear stance on issues such as sustainability and social responsibility, places customer benefit at the heart of our actions and does justice to those who give their best every day: the people in our company."
