When does the overhaul need to be scheduled?

Regular overhauls of turbochargers are essential to maintain dependable engine performance. These overhauls are generally included in the maintenance plan and are typically performed after 12,000 operating hours.

If, however, the engine experiences a drop in performance or deviations in key parameters before reaching the planned hours, this could signal damage due to wear or foreign objects. In these cases, the turbocharger overhaul should be done earlier than the standard service interval.

Here’s how the service works

During a turbocharger overhaul, we begin by disassembling the unit and conducting a detailed inspection of all components to detect signs of wear or damage. Following a comprehensive cleaning to eliminate deposits, dirt, and oil residues, we replace wear parts such as bearings and seals. We also inspect the turbine and compressor wheels and balance the rotors as needed. After all parts are overhauled, the turbocharger is reassembled, tested, and calibrated.
