ZEPPELIN+ connects, monitors, and analyzes engines, drive systems, fleets, and energy systems. It centrally aggregates operational, consumption, and condition data and makes it available for analysis, reporting, and service planning. This allows anomalies to be identified early, maintenance needs to be assessed more accurately, and service calls to be planned more effectively.
The platform bundles specialized apps for various use cases. The View App displays operational data, maintenance information, and oil diagnostic results. The Fuel Consumption App records and analyzes fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. Engines and systems are connected via the ZEPPELIN+ hardware.
ZEPPELIN+ is compatible with various manufacturers: Engines and systems from other manufacturers can also be connected.
THREE-LEVEL ARCHITECTURE
ZEPPELIN+ connects motors and systems to a central data platform and specialized applications. The architecture consists of three levels: Connectivity, Platform, and Apps.
The first level is Connectivity. This uses either the ZEPPELIN+ hardware managed by Zeppelin or a compatible hardware solution. It reads operational, status, and location data from existing control units, sensors, and standardized bus systems and transmits it to the platform. Depending on the use case, additional systems and interfaces can be integrated.
At the second level, data from various sources is collected, standardized, verified, and securely stored in real time. The platform then makes this data available for analysis and applications.
The third level consists of the apps. The View App displays operational data, maintenance information, and oil diagnostic results. The Fuel Consumption App records and analyzes fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions.
ZEPPELIN+ is manufacturer-agnostic. Engines and systems from different manufacturers can be connected, consolidated within a shared data environment, and evaluated.
Connect
- The ZEPPELIN+ hardware or a compatible hardware solution reads operational, status, and location data from motors and systems.
Transmit
- The data is transmitted securely to the platform, either via the existing internet connection or via a dedicated mobile network connection.
Store
- The platform centrally aggregates the data, manages it, and makes it available for use in the apps.
Analyze
- The apps process the data and present it as key figures, trends and reports.
Act
- These metrics enable accurate maintenance planning, comparisons of consumption, and the creation and export of reports.

How engines and systems are connected to ZEPPELIN+
ZEPPELIN+ connects engines and systems from various manufacturers via a central platform. The hardware managed by Zeppelin collects operational, status, and location data from existing control units, sensors, and bus systems and transmits it in a structured format to the platform.
Existing fleets and systems can also be retrofitted. Data from systems and components from different manufacturers is consolidated into a single interface and is available for monitoring, analysis, and service planning.

View App: operational data, maintenance and oil diagnostics in one place
The View App is the customer portal within ZEPPELIN+. It shows the condition of every connected engine and system in a single interface: position and status of the fleet, operational data over time, upcoming maintenance and the results of the oil analysis. The View App is used for inland waterway vessels, rail vehicles, emergency generators and other connected systems, from a single unit up to a large fleet.
Threshold violations, faults and unusual operating behavior are reported automatically to the people responsible. Operators therefore do not have to monitor the condition of their fleet continuously themselves, but are informed whenever relevant events occur.
Roles and rights are managed by the operator, who decides who sees which data.

Fuel Consumption App: making fuel consumption and CO2 emissions measurable
The Fuel Consumption App records the fuel consumption of connected engines and systems and calculates the resulting CO2 emissions. Consumption, emissions, load operating hours and average consumption rate can be compared for individual systems or for the entire fleet across freely selectable periods.
This makes differences between individual engines and drive systems visible that would otherwise go unnoticed in day-to-day operation. In most applications, fuel is the single largest item of operating cost. A reliable comparison is the precondition for identifying savings potential in the first place.
FUEL CONSUMPTION AND EMISSIONS DATA FOR YOUR REPORTING
The Fuel Consumption App generates consumption and emissions data from real operation, structured and in a consistent format. This data can be used for internal analyses as well as a basis for evidence provided to clients, charterers and authorities.
Reports can be exported and are documented transparently, so that individual values can be traced back to the underlying operational data.
